The chapter raises money to hold technical talks, subsidize student attendance to the technical talks and provide student scholarships. the chapter is funded by the following means:

1. Member annual dues
2. Monthly dinner ticket prices
3. Sponsorship by industry and individuals

Annual membership to the chapter does not require annual membership to the National SME organization. Annual section membership supports chapter activities and gains access to subsidized dinner tickets.
